Singing can help in a child’s
development of language and
communication whilst the music provides the
perfect stimulation for children to thrive and have lots of fun. Playing
with musical instruments allows children to develop their
fine motor skills
and at the same time learn about rhythm
and keeping in time with the music.
In my sessions I also use props to
stimulate the imagination
of youngsters and I incorporate some
craft activities in which the children can make
there own instruments and props. This helps them to really become involved
in the songs and music where their full participation is actively
encouraged. A story can also be used at this time.
My experience has also taught me
the importance of more “free play”
and allowing the children to explore and learn in their own ways and at
their own pace. There is always a little time left at the end of the
sessions to allow for this to happen, and my fantastic bubble machine allows
the children to finish on a real high!!!
